I just returned from a trip to Bali, Indonesia.  One thing that made the trip enjoyable was my favorite Bali hotels.  There were some cheap Bali hotels I stayed at that I would never return to, but overall, I thought the hotels in Bali were very nice.

My favorite hotel in Bali was the Bali Hyatt in the Sanur area just east of Denpasar.  It is a very nice resort, but the price per night was still manageable.  I stayed in one of their regency club rooms.  I was expecting a nicer room, but the overall hotel experience (and especially the pool area) made up for it.  The grounds of the resort are awesome as there is a well manicured garden throughout the resort.

My other favorite hotel was the Artini 2 Cottages in Ubud.  Ubud was much more urban than I was expecting.  Artini 2 Cottages was a nice place primarily because there was a walkway that took you away from the busy streets and into an oasis of nice rooms, a nice pool and well manicured gardens.  It was not a luxury hotel by any means, but it was a pleasant stay.  The newer rooms away from the lobby and restaurant area were larger and had better features.
