I have used the Let's Go travel guides for many years, but never realized that they are all written by students at Harvard.

The guides are aimed at student travelers, but I didn't realize they were written by student travelers.

From what I understand, students apply for travel writer positions in the spring. If they are chosen, they go through some training and then head out to various destinations during their summer vacation from college. Their reports are sent back to student editors at Harvard who put the guides together in time for a fall publishing schedule.

I think that might be the best summer job I have ever heard of.

That would be a cool summer job. One of my goals is to get paid to travel some day.

The problem is that the best way to get paid to travel is as a travel writer, but professional travel writers are disappearing because everyone can now be a travel writer. Also, people voting on review sites is a much better way to figure out what resorts and restaurants are actually good compared to trusting the recommendation of a single travel writer.

Maybe you could become a travel agent? Travel agents are also struggling because people can book their own trips online, but some travel agents still do well and they get heavily discounted trips to the resorts they are trying to sell.
