I'm thinking about going to Costa Rica.

I keep hearing two things.

First I hear that the southern Pacific coast is lush with good beaches while the northern Pacific coast is drier with beaches that aren't as great.

Second, I hear that the airport in San Jose was one of the least safe places people have experienced. From what I understand, theft is the main issue with pick pockets and theives roaming the area. I also have heard that it is a long and hectic drive to get from the airport to the coast.

The flights are pretty cheap, but I wonder if they are cheap because Costa Rica isn't the best place to travel to???
