A major attraction in Tampa Bay is Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. The rides are wonderful and the zoo is one of the largest anywhere in the world. Hotels are located near Busch Gardens and they cater to tourists better than the business geared hotels downtown.

The Westshore area has hotels and resorts catering to conventions, business travelers, and sports fans visiting Raymond James Stadium or the Yankees spring training complex.

The main airport is the Tampa International Airport. A quick drive will take you to the quieter and picturesque St. Petersburg and to the outer banks and beaches of Florida's west coast. The main beach resort areas near Tampa Bay are the highrise resort area of St. Pete's Beach and the less crowded beaches as you go north from St. Pete's.
