I have been considering going on a vacation to Costa Rica. Everytime I have been looking into flights they have been around $700. Now they are about $200.

This seems too good to be true.

What are flights to Costa Rica so cheap right now?

Is there some sort of political turmoil? Is it something with the airlines or with a new charter route being introduced?

Are flights to other tropical destinations also cheaper right now?

I'm tempted to make a reservation right now since the price is so good, but I thought I would ask here first in case I am missing something.
