I'm looking for cheap vacation destinations.

I know that some areas are cheap and some are more expensive. I have heard that Belize is more expensive because there are higher shipping costs for the food, drinks, etc...

I would also think that a vacation destination would be cheaper if there is a lot of competition with lots of resorts to choose from.

I have heard stories about people taking vacations in India or other places where you can get a room for $10 and eat for a dollar or two. I can't afford the flight to India, but I figure there might be some good sugggestions out there for cheap places to go in Mexico or the Caribbean.

Mexico is pretty cheap. Both in terms of flights and in terms of rooms, food, and drinks once you get there.

Jamaica is also pretty inexpensive.

Most of the small islands in the Caribbean are more expensive because of the lack of property available and because most of the supplies need to be shipped in from other locations. It also is harder to find enough employees in smaller locations.

Cancun and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic are fairly cheap because there are a lot of all inclusive resorts that all compete with each other. If you are looking for an all inclusive resort, these are good destinations to check out.

If you decide to check out Negril, Jamaica, search for a travel company called OneStop Vacations. I have found very good small, cheap resorts from them on the southern part of the Negril beach.
