I'm thinking about going to Barbados. It has a pretty decent flight in terms of price and timing. The flight is the main thing driving me toward a vacation in Barbados. Otherwise, I don't know much about the place.

From the limited research I have done so far, it looks like Barbados is a pretty developed area. In fact, when I looked at the island with Google Earth, it looks like it is really developed with lots of roads, houses, resorts filing the west side of the island.

The beaches are supposed to be pretty nice, but from the overhead view, it looks like the best beaches are in the more urban areas. Are they pretty busy during the day?

Anything anyone knows about Barbados will be helpful.

I just read something that said the restaurants in Barbados are fairly expensive.  You might want to do a basic search to see what the general prices are in the restaurants and in the grocery stores.  Sometime things on an island as remote as Barbados will be expensive because many things have to be shipped or flown into the island.

Some of the most expensive places in the Caribbean are Belize and the Cayman islands.  Looking at the prices in these destinations led me to look for other options.

I did a basic search for "Grand Cayman food prices" and "Belize food prices" to figure out how much things like beer, bread, etc... costs in those destinations.
